The present tower on top of Glastonbury Tor was built in the early 1300s after the monks retreat that stood there was destroyed by an earthquake. It is still a place of pilgrimage and one of the legend surround this iconic hill is it is that is was the home of Gwyn ap Nudd, the Lord of the Underworld and King of the Fairies, and apparently it is the place where the fairy folk still live. |
